Forensic Science
Real Evidence:
Collection to Trial
You read mysteries, watch true crime shows, and daydream that you are the one solving the case. But do you have what it takes to be part of a real crime-solving team?
Law-enforcement officers, criminal investigators, forensic scientists, and prosecuting attorneys all work together to bring real evidence to trial.
What makes evidence real? Two kinds of evidence may be presented in court: testimonial (given by witnesses and sometimes defendants) and real (presented through documents or physical evidence). Forensic investigations focus on finding real evidence, though real evidence can reveal potential new witnesses, and forensic scientists may be called to give expert testimony in court on real evidence they analyze.
